True Love

I read something in one of those forwarded emails yesterday that was actually a NEW THOUGHT for me.

"True love is the acceptance of all that was, all that is, all that will be, and all that will not be."

This speaks to the frustration we often feel of wanting life to be more or different that God intended it to be for us individually. If you're life is aligned with God's pattern for life as identified in the Bible, you must understand that there is a reason why God has you where He does and it might indeed have very little to do with you individually.

Our society has lost sight of the GREATER GOOD in preference for INDIVIDUAL CHOICE.

Julie,

How do you understand that quote? Do you take it as a personal statement? (If other words, could you place a "for me" before each comma?) Or, do you take it as more universal statement? If you understanding is more like the former, then I agree with you. If it is like the latter, then I cannot agree with you. As Christians we cannot accept the way things are, to do so is to ignore all the social justice texts in the OT and the teachings of Jesus.

If you want to discuss it more, let me know.
